ABANDONMENT OF IGBO LANGUAGE

Hello Igbo Global Community:

Igbo Language is trending into extinction because Ndigbo are abandoning their rich language, culture and heritage at a fast and disappointing rate for other languages and lifestyles. As a result the United Nations and other reputable Agencies  that monitor global trends have predicted that Igbo language will go into extinction within the next ten(10) years or less . If nothing is done immediately and decidedly, when the prediction becomes a reality, current Igbo children and future  generations will be plunged into perpetual  bondage and ignominy as a lost battalion.

Tufiakwa and God forbid are regular refrains whenever the subject about extiction of Igbo language is mentioned in casual and officials gatherings. However Mother Tongue Academy (MTA) goes beyond lip services by utilizing a holistic approach to preserve Igbo language and culture. MTA takes the battle in all fronts teaching the language to the new and old generations  in learner- friendly digital platforms (Websites,Smart Devices, Apps) using experts; broadcasting news in Igbo; offering translation( audio and script) and typesetting services to advocacy/advertising agencies so that Igbo language would always be properly presented. Nkemefula is a critical concept in Igbo culture. Therefore if all hands are on deck to preserve and promote Igbo language and culture, the Sky will be a stepping stone for Igbo excellence in a global arena.

Ndigbo who are already being envied in global arena for their hard work and tenacity to excell as Accountants, Doctors, Engineers, Professors, Pharmacists, Nurses, Enterpreneurs, Entertainers; inspite; woefully are pure failuires in realm of Igbo language. This unfortunate setback makes one begin to question iwherether there are more "Ndugbo In Names Only (NINO) than through-bred Ndigbo? Far from it ecept Ndigbo must wakeup from their deep sumber and forge ahead to reverse their current trending of playing second fiddle with Igbo language, Culture and heritage. It is no more acceptable to pride orselves with jaw breaking English and other foreign names. Only pet animals answer to the names their masters approve.
